Alitis Investment Counsel Unaffected By Shellshock Bug
Sep 26, 2014
There is a new bug called Shellshock that is being compared to the Heartbleed bug, which affected hundreds of thousands of computers this past April. Shellshock affects a piece of software called Bash, short for Bourne-Again Shell, which is part of the Unix operating system. We would once again like to take this time to say that our custodian, Qtrade Securities, does not use this software and is unaffected by this security issue.
As a compliance standard at Alitis, we regularly change our passwords and use best practices for choosing secure passwords. Wherever possible, we seek to limit risk, not just in our investment pools, but also in our business practices.
